The Way Ahead

This shot captures for me something of what it feels like heading into a new role as lead pastor at St Peter’s church. There are so many unknowns out there. There is a spiritual conflict and struggle ahead. It will no doubt be costly. There are lives at stake. There will be casualities – hopefully not me or my family. It would in many ways be easier to stay where I am – but like the guy in the photo – its really not the right option. And another thing I’ve just noticed – he’s not alone – his friends are wading into it with him. Through the struggle there is the hope of victory – the soldiers business is suffering and victory.
